Junior Staff Accountant (Remote)

About the Role

The Junior Staff Accountant will be responsible for executing best-practice accounting policies to ensure accurate and timely financial processing. This role requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who can work independently in a high-volume environment while identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain state sales tax exemption forms.
  • Monitor AP mailbox and Airbase AP module; handle employee expenses, virtual cards, and corporate reimbursements.
  • Oversee major vendor expense allocations.
  • Perform general accounting duties, including monthly General Ledger and Balance Sheet analysis.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address banking inquiries.
  • Assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation for annual audits.
  • Stay updated on acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Support the monthly financial close process and prepare account reconciliations.
  • Ensure consistency in accounting practices across multiple entities.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and controls.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems like SAGE Intacct or similar preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent work skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

💼 Salary: Targeting $65,000, with a range of $50,000 – $70,000, based on location, qualifications, and experience.
